At the age of 45, I finished my first novel and completely fell in love with reading. I’m not illiterate… I just hadn’t been exposed to this world.
As I encouraged my daughter to read and saw her sink her teeth into book series like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, I finally caved and read the first book. Harry Potter was the book I promised her I would read.

I started on my phone and moved to a Kindle. From there, it exploded into “what’s next?” as I ran through all sorts of genres in the summer of 2026.
Yes… I am that new.
From classics to dungeon crawling, I am loving literature and am on a mission to help other people find this little pocket of peace I have found.

“Obsession” is usually the word friends associate with me when I find a new hobby, and they’re pretty accurate.

…depending on how you want to measure it. That’s when AmongReaders started to come into my mind.

It wasn’t just about tracking my reading. It was talking about chapters, theories, and putting down some hot takes. I felt on fire with reading, but I was new to something people had done for years.
I had missed out in a way — but I started talking to people in book clubs and sharing my experience of missing out on reading together with friends.

What AmongReaders is for
AmongReaders is made to help us connect through reading.
From what stores we go to, to what clubs we’re in, down to what types of books we have sitting in our “want to read” pile. I’m hoping I can bring friends together through conversations and notes left on the chapters of our favorite books, book suggestions, and connections with our literary community of bookstores, little libraries, and clubs.
